About the Album

If you’re here, you probably know me, you know a caregiver, or you are one. My life has been shaped by caregiving — for my brothers, as a mother, as a nurse, and later through my son’s stroke at age 25. Not long after, my husband developed Parkinson’s from Agent Orange, followed by Lewy Body and dementia.

As I moved through disbelief, anger, adaptation, and acceptance, I wrote songs to make sense of what I was living. Many of those songs became this album.

I’ll Go On — the first song I wrote while trying not to be angry.
He Laughs — Memory Loss can be wrapped in learning to laugh together.
On My Knees — the posture I found myself in often.
Chair on a Beach — inspired by a day trip of respite.
Capture the Moments — making the most of moments when we can’t make memories.
Winds of Change — a prodigal child not quite out of the empty nest.
I Won’t Leave You Alone — love as it changes in the caregiving journey.
I Still Say Yes to You — the daily choice of commitment.
In Paradise — the last song we wrote together and what he was trying to tell me in what he heard.
I Came to Believe — a reminder to let God.

I hope you find yourself somewhere in these songs — and maybe a little inspiration to go on, to capture the moments, and to always find the hope.

— Jodi
