Capture The Moments

An album embracing the real struggle of caregiving through honest, authentic songs shaped by one caregiver’s journey — mine. These songs come from my story; written for anyone walking a similar road. My hope is that these songs meet you where you are, remind you that you’re not walking this alone, and help you hold onto the moments that matter.

I Won’t Leave You Alone (Ode To Romeo and Juliet)

Jodi R. Bloom ©2023

We once ran in the woods
On a path we understood
Holding hands you vowed to walk me home
Who does that anymore?

And in the night when you lie next to me
And you don’t want me to go
You beg me stay until you fall asleep
I won’t leave you alone
I won’t leave you alone

I know we must part
I just can’t it’s too hard
I reach out to take your hand in mine
I know it’s time

And in the night when you lie next to me
I don’t want to go
I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep
I won’t leave you alone
I won’t leave you alone

Somehow we will go on
Together when the night turns to dawn
Somehow we will go on
Together when the night turns to dawn

And in the night when you lie next to me
I don’t want to go
I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep
I won’t leave you alone
I won’t leave you alone
I won’t leave you alone

I Still Say Yes to You

Janet Louise Green and Jodi R. Bloom ©2025

Saw the changes come and asked the doctor for a reason
Wasn’t overnight, it was over many seasons.
He said, “The pills in the bottle are worse than the disease.”
Beggin’ him please, look what it’s doing to me
Questions with no answers left me feeling all alone
I guess I had to find them on my own.

Now I love the you I wake up to each morning
Every day another chance to say yes to you
Now I love the you I wake up to each morning
Every challenge we go through
I still say yes, I still say yes to you

Strangers look at me as if my life is tragic
They don’t even know I found 9th inning magic
Some days aren’t so bad I learn to laugh it off
Learnin’ to give thanks for what I’ve got

Now I love the you I wake up to each morning
Every day another chance to say yes to you
Now I love the you  I wake up to each morning
Every challenge we go through
I still say yes, I still say yes to you

Was there really any choice to make
When it came to decision day?

Now I love the you I wake up to each morning
Every day another chance to say yes to you
Now I love the you I wake up to each morning
Every challenge we go through
I still say yes, I still say yes to you

Capture the Moments

Jodi R Bloom © 2023

Not sure it matters
If I find the words
To tell you how I feel
And how much it hurts
To watch you lose bit by bit
To know you’ll lose all of it

Capture the moments
We don’t want to miss
Let go of the memories
That don’t seem to fit
In-to the mold of our lives
Passing By

I tell the story
Of days turned to years
Joy in the laughter
Sadness in tears
To watch you lose bit by bit
To know you’ll lose all of it

I’m glad the anger
Is finally gone
Did it ever matter
Who was right, who was wrong

Capture the moments
We don’t want to miss
Let go of the memories
That don’t seem to fit
In-to the mold of our lives
Passing By

In-to the mold of our lives
Passing By

He Laughs

Jodi R Bloom © 2023

He doesn’t know his children
Or recognize my face
He can’t recall a memory
Because they’re all erased
But he laughs,
He can laugh,
I love to make him laugh.

I have to hold his hand when
We walk on the road
Just in case he wanders off
And won’t know where to go
But he laughs,
He can laugh,
I love to make him laugh.

I see the sunshine in his eyes
Does he see tears that I cry
When he laughs
When he laughs

He says such funny things
That don’t make sense
Forgotten stories now
There no remember when
But he laughs,
He smiles and he laughs,

I love to make him laugh,
I love to make him laugh

Chair on a Beach

Jodi R Bloom © 2023

Sit in a chair, collapse and fall
Let out the air, you’re exhausted
Keep on caring but can’t do it all
So you stare like you’re accosted
With all the requests and demands
More than hairs on your head
or grains of sand

In a chair on a beach
In a chair on a beach
In a chair on a beach

Relaxing back, lost in the waves
Toes in the sand, beneath the heat
Feel the warmth of the sun on your face
Watch the gulls flying free
Away from requests and demands
More than hairs on your head
or grains of sand

In a chair on a beach
In a chair on a beach
In a chair on a beach

No holding back the tears start to fall
They dry in the breeze
Letting go brings such relief

In a chair on a beach
In a chair on a beach
In a chair on a beach

Winds of Change

Jodi R Bloom, Uno M Bloom © 2001

Your car quit at a truckstop near Tucson
And home was the last place you called.
You’re crying in the dark.
From a daughter’s broken heart,
Home doesn’t look so bad at all.

When you feel the winds of change,
Life can’t stay the same,
Hope becomes a long and winding road.
Before the journey ends,
Your dream will live again.
The winds of change will turn and you’ll be home.

Your ticket will be at the bus stop
Will you stay for a week, maybe two?
We’ll sit down by the lake,
Help you find the road to take.
Let the dream you lost come back to you.

When you feel the winds of change,
Life can’t stay the same,
Hope becomes a long and winding road.
Before the journey ends,
Your dream will live again.
The winds of change will turn and you’ll be home.

Home is not a place for you to hide
Home is where you learn to fly

When you feel the winds of change,
Life can’t stay the same,
Hope becomes a long and winding road.
Before the journey ends,
Your dream will live again.
The winds of change will turn and you’ll be home.

On My Knees

Jodi R Bloom © 2023

Of all the things that mattered
It was you most of all
When reality just shatters
The dream and I fall
To my Knees, to my knees
Hitting hard when I fall, on my knees

There’s a road I have traveled
That no one else would dare
No one else wants my worn out
Shoes or graying hair
Or my knees, on my knees
No one else wants to fall, on my knees

There’s something about falling down
That makes you want to get back up and stand
Another chance to turn your life around
To face whatever finds you where you land

So I raise up my hands
With arms open wide
For the journey ahead
Tears already cried
On my knees, on my knees
It’s a good place to fall, on my knees

On my knees, on my knees

I’ll Go On

Jodi R Bloom © 2022

I take care of you day after day
Hiding the truth, what would they say?
I can’t go on, this way anymore
I’m not that strong
For the next tug of war

But I’ll go on, I’ll go on
I’ll find hope in the day
I’ll go on, I’ll go on
I’ll find hope in the night as I pray
I’ll go on

I call a friend and talk all night long
When will it end, I keep hanging on
Life wasn’t supposed
To turn out this way
Still I go on, while you fade away

But I’ll go on, I’ll go on
I’ll find hope in the day
I’ll go on, I’ll go on
I’ll find hope in the night as I pray
I’ll go on

I cannot tell you any of this
But if I could, I’ll tell you I miss
What has become of all our dreams
Faded and torn, ripped at the seams

But I’ll go on, I’ll go on
I’ll find hope in the day
I’ll go on, I’ll go on
I’ll find hope in the night as I pray
I’ll go on
I’ll go on
I’ll go on

In Paradise

Jodi R Bloom, Uno M Bloom © 2020

When this earth I leave
I want to believe
I’ll meet with you in Paradise

When I’m with you
It’s easy to believe
I’ll be with you in Paradise

In Paradise we’ll forget all our tears
In Paradise we’ll be free
In Paradise all the pain will leave
You’ll walk there with me
In Paradise, Paradise

I hold you close,
I let you go
I’ll meet with you in Paradise

In Paradise we’ll forget all our tears
In Paradise we’ll be free
In Paradise all the pain will leave
You’ll walk there with me
In Paradise, Paradise

You’ll know the words
To the simple tune
I’ll be singing for you

In Paradise we’ll forget all our tears
In Paradise we’ll be free
In Paradise all the pain will leave
You’ll walk there with me
In Paradise, Paradise
In Paradise, In Paradise

I Came to Believe

Jodi R Bloom, Uno M Bloom © 2014

I Came to Believe
I Came to Believe

You’re the only living
God who could ever rescue me
You’re the only one who could
Bring me back to sanity

I Came to Believe
I Came to Believe

You’re the only living
God who can ever die for me
You’re the only one with the
Power to set me free

I Came to Believe
I Came to Believe

In You in You
In Your presence
Power comes from You
Power to heal and
Power to renew

I Came to Believe
I Came to Believe
